Easter eggshibition at London’s Metropolitan hotel

London’s luxury Metropolitan hotel has commissioned eight diverse ‘artists’ to create Easter eggs for an exhibition at the hotel.

There’s no design brief, and the eggs were allowed to be made from any material desired. All eight designs are currently displayed in the Met’s lobby, and are due to be auctioned on 30 April, with all proceeds going to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

The artists include Zandra Rhodes, a British fashion icon who has designed clothes for royalty from Princess Di to stars including Freddie Mercury, and whose dresses are collected by both Kate Moss and the V&A. Also participating is Moritz Waldemeyer, creator of light-studded costumes for Rihanna and the London Olympics handover ceremony, and Giles Miller, an innovative surface designer with a client list spanning British Airways and Stella McCartney.

The auction to be held at the Met Bar will start at 6.30pm on 30 April. For further information, visit comohotels.com/metropolitanlondon
