Given a seal of approval by the cast of American comedy series Modern Family, Australia‘s spectacular new resort on the iconic Hayman Island in the Great Barrier Reef has brought back the glamour to the island that was built by Sir Peter Abeles in the 80s.
The luxury resort has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation and re-launched as One&Only Hayman Island in July.

New Hayman rooms and Hayman suites, featuring ocean and lagoon views, have been introduced with re-imagined interiors. The exclusive beach villas, with secluded second bedroom retreat rooms, as well as the one, two and three-bedroom penthouses, including one created by the legendary fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg offers the ultimate in exclusivity and privacy.
Most guest rooms feature ocean views, whilst some rooms enjoy overlooking the serene lily lagoon. The interiors are luxurious with a pleasing aesthetic of understated elegance, playing off a neutral palate, in tune with the natural surroundings, with decadent canopy beds, pale linen furnishings and smart geometric accents set the stage for relaxation.
Due to the resort’s location you will be able to enjoy a host of sporting facilities to discover the island and the Great Barrier Reef – one of the most complex natural ecosystems in the world with over 33,000 species found off the coastline.
