Remarkable attention to detail has been incorporated into the new décor to reflect the splendour of Melton Manor’s remote location and the scale of the surrounding landscape. Distinctively South African, feature pieces of simple colonial furniture have been sourced from across the Eastern Cape, up-sized deep comfortable sofas custom made whilst subtle game and bush references have been added throughout to embrace the local environment.
In contrast to the previous design a calm natural palette has been used to give this contemporary house its character and tone. Furthermore, the use of textured fabrics and hides as well as wood, stone, pewter, ceramic and wicker, along with bespoke lamps, mirrors and tables gives each of the four oversized suites a unique identity.
This luxury African lodge offers a variety of private spaces and open plan areas for guests young and old to relax and gather in when not out exploring the reserve: loungers on private decks for afternoon snoozes between safari excursions; covered and uncovered verandahs and decks for good weather dining and to gather and recount the day’s excitements; an interactive kitchen leading onto a dining area for cookery activity; a spacious lounge with handcrafted furniture and sofas to snuggle up on during cooler evenings, and a swimming pool with sunbeds for relaxation and sun worshiping.
In keeping with its pristine wilderness setting, Melton Manor offers a magnificent whole-house experience for families and groups to enjoy themselves – and each other’s company.
