Under the heavens; those beds with the stars above.

Beautiful staging apparently using regional materials, shapes and colorways. The decor fits well with surrounding jungle, merging indoors with outdoors. I particularly enjoyed the simplicity of the outdoor dining room, tree lights reflecting in the pool; river rock edging around the pool, simple white clad tables and chairs. There needs to be lower light sources in order to illuminate faces and food. Excellent mosquito netting on some of the bed frames…On some none at all???? ouch!! A bath tub featured is rather shallow. However in all a well thought design and a pass with flying colors.

This is incredible! I can’t even express how much of a wonderful job they did mixing the rugged African feel with such a lush luxury style! I’m jealous.

  • trixie

it’s too luxurious. i think if i were to live in a home like this i’d tone it down a bit. simplicity can be good.

I agree with trixie. It is a beautiful place but too luxurious. I’ve been to Kenya and prefer the luxury of a place like Galdessa. Luxurious but not overly so. Check out Galdessa’s website and you will see what I mean. http://www.galdessa.com/accomodationMainGaldessa.php
No, I have not connection to Galdessa. I stayed there a few nights and love the place.

It is incredible the way they incorporated such a luxurious feel. The lighting by the pool is beautiful. I think they could have used some bedding sets that have more color, to go with the outdoor feel.

  • Anika

Beautiful. But I think it’s sad that most of these resorts have pools of water when most of Africa is thirsty. Most people don’t have access to even the basics of life, while others are concerned with having the most luxurious things. Definitely an issue there.

Hard to believe that such luxurious hotel can exist in Africa.

  • Richard Barker

No Ryan Singita is a wildlife reserve where you go to appreciate the wildlife of Afica. We would never feature a reserve where hunting was performed due to the moral quandary which it raises – in some respects game hunting helps infuse the local economy with much needed revenue and on the other hand it`s the killing of something living done purely in the name of sport and money – however we have a strong ethical belief that we would never promote anything like this on Adelto. If you simply visit the Singita website, you can learn more about this wondrous place.
