The Rosebery at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London
Looking for a stylish hangout for afternoon tea or Champagne cocktails in London? The ultra-luxurious Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London has unveiled its revamped new venue, The Rosebery. Capitalizing on the hotel’s iconic location in the heart of fashionable Knightsbridge, The Rosebery, named after Lord Rosebery, was once a stylish tea room in the early 1920s, and has made a welcome return to its roots. The interior design, created by G&A Designs (the team behind London’s Northall and the Booking Office Bar at St Pancras), captures the room’s Victorian origins, blended with contemporary touches. The design also makes full use of the expansive space and height of the room and its abundance of natural light. A beautiful fireplace is a central feature, together with specially commissioned one-of-a kind art pieces.
Every element in creating the afternoon tea and Champagne salon has been truly bespoke, including the new Rosebery China Collection by William Edwards, glassware by John Jenkins and uniforms designed by one of Britain’s young fashion designers, Charlotte Taylor.
To complement Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London’s existing gastronomic offerings, which include the two Michelin starred Dinner by Heston Blumenthal as well as Bar Boulud, the buzzing French-style brasserie and wine bar, The Rosebery is offering a chic afternoon tea service every day. A choice of breakfast, afternoon and directors reserve blends have been exclusively crafted to Mandarin Oriental’s specifications, together with a selection of speciality teas, in conjunction with the East India Trading Company. Afternoon tea is served with a selection of fresh sandwiches, creative pastries, scones and seasonal jams all created by in-house team of chefs. Once the evening begins, the elegant lounge is transformed into a Champagne bar.
The Rosebery is open from 9am to 11pm Monday to Sunday at the Mandarin Oriental, 66 Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7LA, England, mandarinoriental.com/london
