This ‘industrial chic’ loft will make you want to move to NYC

Monaco-based design practice, Casa Manara, has designed the 476 Broadway project. Completed in 2013, the luxury 2500 sqf loft  apartment is located in an iconic Soho building, New York City, US.

Completed within six months, this luxury New York loft has a homy feeling within an industrial shell. The interior design project incorporated ceramic tiles, grey marble and amongst others. All the millwork has been done is Oak, brushed and sandblasted to open the pores and finished with natural wax.

What was the biggest challenge during the project?

Being able to translate the wishes of the clients of turning a one-bedroom loft into a three-bedrooom and three-bathroom apartment, whilst complying to all local planning laws and restrictions.

How would you describe the overall design of the project?

It is simple, light, airy and warm. Despite having an industrial but chic design, the loft feels homely and welcoming. The owners requested an industrial design in their brief to us but also stated that it should be livable.

What stands out the most for you in this interior design project?

What we really love is the TV room from where you can look both north and south of Broadway due to the new window openings.

Piero Manara, architect told Adelto: “Our aim was to be able to show the added value we could bring to all sorts of design fields and complicated situations. As long as we feel that the project deserves a novel result, we were able to conceive a space that would move and inspire. The culture of bringing projects to life is in our DNA. We always try to remain curious, creative and inspired.”
