The exclusive Six Senses Zighy Bay, Musandam Peninsula

Zighy Bay is located on a headland on the northern Musandam Peninsula in the Sultanate of Oman. It is set between dramatic mountains to the rear and a broad sandy beach in front. The Musandam Peninsula is an exclave region of the Sultanate of Oman, separated from the rest of the country by the United Arab Emirates. Zighy Bay is located 120 km, or 90 minutes drive from Dubai International Airport.

The peninsula’s rugged mountains which rise up to 2,100 meters above the coast and just into the Strait of Hormuz have a spectacular fjord-like look. It is no wonder that Musandam is also called “The Norway of the Middle East”.

The 79 pool villas, plus The Private Reserve, and 2 Retreats are a blend of the surrounding traditional Omani, indigenous village style with modern amenities which provide luxury amidst local cultural themes. The villas offer a spacious, personal environment with rustic chic décor to reflect the brand’s positioning of Redefining Experiences.

One of the latest additions to the facilities at the idyllic Zighy Bay on the Musandam Peninsula is a brand new Dive Centre and 50 berth state-of-the-art marina. In order to take advantage of the unique underwater ecosystem of the Gulf of Oman, Six Senses Zighy Bay has launched a superb new Dive centre offering facilities for beginners and experts alike. Managed by a team of experienced diving instructors, courses in SSI/CMAS and PADI are now available at the resort.  In addition to this, the centre is offering guided excursions to some of the best dive sites in the area, where the mix of hard and soft coral and the plankton rich waters offer an incredible variety of marine life, including whale sharks, boxfish and sea turtles. The new luxurious marina is sustainable and environmentally friendly, offering first class services. The 50 berths that it holds reflect the indigenous Omani heritage.  Oman Sail, who run innovative training programmes for thousands of young Omanis, have even added Zighy Bay as a stop to their Sailing Arabia Tour. Guests will also have the opportunity to hire a stunning 16.7 meter, 6 berth Atlantis 55 yacht whilst staying at the resort, enabling them to explore the crystal clear waters at their leisure.
