Sanctuary at Geylang by ONG&ONG, Singapore

Singapore-based architectural practice ONG&ONG has designed the Sanctuary ay Geyland project. Completed in 2014, and located in Singapore the building includes 21 residential units.

Sanctuary at Geylang is the latest to join ONG&ONG’s line-up of 360° solution projects. This freehold, 21-unit residential development in Geylang is a boutique condominium that provides convenient access to nearby amenities, such as food centres and transportation lines, while also being just minutes away from the city.

Despite the relatively narrow plot on which the development sits, the eight-storey structure makes efficient use of the land with a mechanised car parking system, as well as automated security measures. Residents can come home to a quaint garden entrance that shares the ground floor space with a communal access area.

Each unit is equipped with a generously sized balcony that allows one to enjoy the topical weather outdoors, while still being sheltered from the elements. Steel metal mesh encircles the balcony, giving the façade a sophisticated feel, while the timber deck gives a more natural and comforting feel to each home. The screen also has a sun-shading function and can be closed or opened throughout the day.

The sanctuary’s governing design principles are elegance and simplicity, affording its residents tranquillity and comfort in their daily living.
