Nevada’s eco-chic Mustang Monument resort opens

Launched in June, Mustang Monument is an eco-resort and wild mustang reserve surrounded by the wide horizons and soul-soothing open spaces of Nevada.

The chic resort offers a 360-degree luxury experience and an unforgettable Wild West wildlife adventure.

The sanctuary covers 900-sq m of mountainous and gloriously scenic land in Wells where philanthropist, Madeleine Pickens, runs Saving America’s Mustangs and makes a home for 600 descendants of the wild horses that helped pioneers settle the untamed West.

Lodgings come in the form of stunning ‘one-of-a-kind’ hand-painted tipis with king-sized beds, fine linens, hardwood floors, hand-made Native American rugs, luxurious bathroom cabins and 24-hour butler service.

Guests at the luxury resort can enjoy plenty of outdoor activities. Riding is key to the experience here plus observing, learning about and photographing the beautiful mustang, horse-drawn and off-road vehicle safaris, calf roping lessons, archery, hiking, Native American beading classes, learning about the heritage and history of the Wild West and divine in-tipi spa treatments.

Gourmet dining incorporates Native American flavours overlaid with modern Western flair whilst evenings in this outback-chic retreat conclude with cowboy balladeers strumming under starry skies and spellbinding fireside stories woven about the history of the American West and those magnificent, magical mustangs.
