Manchester Penthouse by Curve Interior Design

Manchester based practice Curve were appointed to complete the design of this fashionable suburban penthouse. Involved from the building stage of the project Curve worked with the developer PJ Livesey as the existing plans for two apartments were re-modelled to create one spacious home.

Curve were then responsible for the fit out of the space, including the complete interior specification – bathrooms, flooring and wood panelling.

The decoration includes some fabulous wallpapers, feature painted walls and a custom designed map of old Manchester in the hallway.

The style of furniture is modern and fitting to apartment living. An open plan living area features shots of colour within items such as aubergine Cassina ‘Hola’ dining chairs and the fabulous Poliform ‘Snake’ chair in a amazing mustard yellow. The storage units in the room are also by Poliform, one system floating on the bespoke panelling which also incorporates the TV and AV, another bringing together spessart oak with a punchy, vibrant orange. The carefully considered pendant lighting adds ambience and interest to the different areas of the room.

The three bedrooms focus on luxury; a bespoke master bed with walk-around headboard (incorporating switches and feature lighting) to access the wardrobe and dressing area at the rear. The finishes combine leather and dark walnut.

The overall look of the project is sleek and contemporary. The finishing touches of Missoni Home and Kenzo cushions in soft velvet, along with stunning artwork by local artist ‘Phillippe’ create a striking finished scheme.
