Luxury residential development – The Russell, London

London-based luxury residential development company Capital & Counties Properties PLC, (Capco), have unveilled the The Russell project. The Russell is a boutique scheme of just five apartments – three laterals and two duplexes in London’s Covent Garden.

Three designers have been appointed to fit out the apartments; Spring and Mercer have completed the interior design of the first floor, which has a Manhattan loft feel to it, Argent has done one of the laterals and Joanna Wood has designed one of the luxury duplex penthouses.

This grand corner building overlooks the Covent Garden Piazza, alongside the Royal Opera House, commanding views of two distinctively London landmarks.

The luxury London property comprises of three lateral apartments and two duplex penthouses and offers a rare opportunity to live in the very heart of London’s vibrant cultural quarter. In addition to its world-class entertainment, Covent Garden is famous for its shopping and dining placing The Russell amongst some of the best restaurants and retailers in London.

The Russell offers contemporary living within a period building. The building’s features have been  restored and the interior layouts  reconfigured to create graceful  and open spaces with grand windows, high ceilings and views of London’s only Piazza. Internally the building has been developed to a high specification with architecture by Argent Design and separate show apartments individually designed by Spring & Mercer, Argent Design and Joanna Trading.

Adelto loves the two duplex apartments, which have been arranged over two-storeys,  one with outside space and views to the City of London.

The original grand staircase, sweeping around the custom designed lighting sculpture is a clear winner, and so are the bespoke walnut veneer wardrobes with burnish lacquer finish and custom feature handles. Other highlights include Miele kitchen appliances, four person lift in high gloss lacquer panels with inset bevelled mirror and custom crocodile leather with antique brown stone floor finish.

Covent Garden has been described as one of the most distinct and vibrant estates in London; unequalled in its mix of shops, restaurants, architecture, entertainment and culture. The neighbourhood’s new take on recent additions to the Covent Garden neighbourhood include Balthazar New York’s coolest restaurant, the European flagship of cutting edge American label Opening Ceremony and Chanel which has created its first stand alone beauty boutique in the Market Building.
