Australian-based design studio Robinson Architects has designed the Marcus Beach House. This two storey contemporary property can be found on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia.
According to the architects the brief was to design a contemporary Australian beach property for a retired couple.
“The site is pretty steep, which allows direct entry from street level to all the main living areas with guest accommodation on a lower level. From the street, the contemporary Australian beach house appears low in scale, whilst still gaining good elevation on the beach front.
“All of the rooms in the property are cross ventilated. Automated windows allow easy control. Water runoff is harvested and natural day lighting is used to reduce the homes carbon footprint and making it sustainable.” Images courtesy of Sam Charlton.
