Luxury Lower Mill Estate, Cotswolds, England

Lower Mill Estate is a collection of stunning eco-chic holiday homes near Cirencester in the Cotswolds, England created by the Paxton family and award-winning architects.

Set in more than 550 acres of unspoilt Cotswolds countryside, Lower Mill Estate enables anyone to buy a plot of land on a unique nature reserve and then create their own dream holiday home. Owners can then rent out their properties if they wish, enabling guests to stay for a few nights and truly relax with family and friends.

It is a showcase of some of the finest, pioneering and sustainable architecture – with each property designed to harmonise people,
ecology and architecture.

Lower Mill Estate, which is less than two hours from London by car and just over an hour by train, offers the ideal balance between outdoor living and rest and relaxation, amid acres and acres of space, eight lakes and two rivers.

To be completed spring 2014, the latest development to launch within the estate is The Water Garden, which will boast the UK’s first canoe safari – home owners can hop into a canoe from their doorstep and head off into the 40-acre Spinney Lake to catch fresh trout which can then be cooked on the BBQ on their roof terrace for supper that evening!

The 10 luxury British homes have all been designed by leading architect Andy Ramus – each of which epitomises open-plan living with internal living spaces leading out onto larger exterior decking plus each having their own roof top terrace . While exterior design is the same across the properties, bespoke interior design touches can be tailored to the wish of home buyers to make each property unique.

A focus point of the development is the central ‘floating water’ garden which gives the impression of floating like an island in the water. The design concept also sees each of the houses positioned like spokes on a wheel – a connecting body of water has been specially shaped to link each house to one another via canoe.

In addition, there is an award-winning Pevonia spa with indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools and so many outdoor activities to choose from on-site, including biking, kayaking and sailing. There are more than 500 species of wildlife to explore too.
