Genius Loci Residence by Bates Masi Architects

Sag Harbor-based studio Bates Masi Architects has designed the Genius Loci Residence, a beautiful, charming home which incorporates a clever mix of traditional and contemporary architecture.

This 7,000 square foot contemporary residence is located in Montauk, New York, USA and was formerly a horse ranch, owing to the acres of spaciousness and potential relaxation or leisure activities that the area offers. Challenged with embodying the “Spirit of Montauk’ by the clients, Bates Masi Architects have designed a wonderfully charismatic, efficient and modern home.

The exterior of the house simply appears to be two modest and separate one-story ranches, with a limitless space of nature and wildlife surrounding it. This offers a unique living experience for the inhabitants, who will be left feeling pampered by the luxury that the home allows.

The interior of the residence is a sight to behold. The vast area of space offers boundless potential, while an outdoor swimming pool and courtyard prompts relaxation and comfort when wanted, as does the spectacular view and scenery. Inside the house is a deluge of colour; a bright feast for the eyes. Striking colours such as bright red, orange and white are contrasted with the monotone of the beautiful, sleek furnishings and the contemporary art hanging on the walls.

With a large kitchen and dining area and an endearing bedroom and bathroom ensemble, this house affords the greatest of luxury, relaxation and comfort possibilities within a delightful atmosphere.
