Amsterdam-based creative design studio, Marcel Wanders, has designed the Private Residence project. The elegant private home is located in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
According to the designer: “If you think skin is surface and surface is superficial, your brains have proved that your eyes don’t work.
“With 102 m2 of surface and a garden of 100 m2, Private Residence, Amsterdam strangely symbolises the typical home space for the Netherlands. With these specifications, the space had to be very rationally organised. But rational doesn’t stop architecture from speaking. The interior design of the contemporary Amsterdam home abounds with strong details which provide monumentality.
“The semi – circular wall in the main area has been enhanced and the curved wall got bulged to give an iconic presence to the space. The boundary between inside and outside, and between architecture and nature are blurred. The garden and the house had to live together in a beautiful peaceful way.”
