Elegant design at Departamento ASL, Mexico


Mexico City-based architectural practice, ARCO Arquitectura Contemporánea, have design the Departamento ASL project. The elegant property can be found in México City, México.

According to the architects: “For the interior design of this apartment it was important to find the appropriate design language to balance the contemporary space with the classic furniture. The colour palette is sober with elegant colours being selected to allow the styles to fuse. In addition, high-tech technology for the light, audio and video control was installed and custom designed spaces for the works of art.


“A marble carpet, with a geometric pattern in chiaroscuro, welcomes you at the main entrance, marking the way towards the corridor leading to public and private areas. The living area is very wide and has fantastic views of the city. The space is divided into living and study, both separated by a small living room used for informal meetings. The dining room is in a separate room that also benefits from the magnificent views. A grand chandelier in the center of the space  connects directly with the services.

“The family room is a transitional space between the public and private areas and has the best technology to enjoy a movie or just listen to music. Main design features are the ebony wood walls and ceilings, absolute black granite wall and the Calacatta marble base, the combination of these colours and textures make this room unique.

“The en-suite master bedroom benefits from a generous dressing area adjacent to the small room, which is used for reading, relaxing, and is separated from all the apartment activities. The result is a contemporary space with an atmosphere in which the taste for the classic defines its special personality.”
