Contemporary Spanish colonial design at Polodo House

Buenos Aires-based architectural practice, Jendretzki, have designed the Polodo House project. Completed in 2010, the contemporary Spanish colonial property can be found in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

According to the architects: “This Pool House, set on the sidelines of a polo field in the Buenos Aires Pampas, frames the Olympic-size swimming pool. The concrete columns purposefully intrude into the shallow pool to demonstrate a hierarchy while being playful. The pergola provides a designed shadow for on-the-water lunches. The pool itself is divided into areas of different depths including a submerged Jacuzzi, a kids shallow pool, as well as the main swimming section all of which are under the same body of water. The architectural language of the building responds to the vernacular contemporary Spanish colonial typical in the countryside.”
