Contemporary holiday home in Vlieland, Netherlands

Holland-based architectural practice FG Projects and Van Egmond Total Architecture have completed this contemporary holiday home. The elegant property can be found in Vlieland, the Netherlands.
According to the architects: “This is a new build holiday home on the island of ‘Vlieland’ in the north of the Netherlands. The contemporary property is located in the sandy dunes close to the Northsea. The facade is made of African teakwood and the roofing is made of black Spanish slate. The basement is made of concrete with a cladding of Belgian bluestone. High tech home control systems from Gira/Jung. Sun screens made of western red cedar wood and are operated electrically. The chimney is a kind of copy of the Falling Water Villa chimneys by Frank Loyd Wright and is made of Norwegian Oppdal stone.

The luxury Dutch villa consists of a basement, ground floor and a smaller first floor, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, three separate bathrooms, a large living room/kitchen and a sauna/Turkish bath.”

The interior design is chic, elegant and relaxed. The living room has been tastefully finished, the focal point in this room is the wooden wall built in fire.
