Chic interior design project, Moema, Brazil

São Paulo-based design studio Kwartet Arquitetura have completed the interior design of the Moema project. Completed in 2012, the contemporary apartment can be found in São Paulo, the largest city in Brazil.

The contemporary Brazilian apartment belongs to a couple with a young child. They had wanted to decorate their 400m² apartment, which was recently remodeled, and desired a classic environment, in a light colour scheme.

According to the interior designers: “To update the style required, contemporary furniture mixed harmoniously with classic design: In the living room, a geometrical rug elegantly counterpoints the antique chair and guerridon; the clean design couch and armchair highlight the classic dresser with murano table lamp. Extremely contemporary, Macassar Ebony side tables look sophisticated in their glossy finish. Silk curtains warm up the room, while fabrics with different textures were combined to enrich the result, since the colour palette requested was neutral.

“In the dining room, the table with its minimalist lines, contrasts with Louis XVI carved giltwood and white marble sideboard. From the same period, the chairs were refreshed by golden stripes silk.

“The home theater is a functional space – comfortable L shaped couch and linen stool with stainless steel base in a darker shade as the curtain shawl. To avoid blocking the spectacular city views from the terrace, a Travertine marble side table was used.

“The master bedroom in the contemporary Brazilian apartment has a stronger classic touch, with capitone suede headboard, mirror nightstand and dressing table, antique Louis XV chair and day bed. The girl’s room is fit for a princess, it was designed to her taste, a romantic dossel bed, with delicate fabric composition and floral wallpaper. The guest room remains neutral, in light beige shades, mixing leather and stainless steel nightstand, lacquered desk and upholstered linen headboard.”
