Luxury Hyde Park apartment by Intarya

London-based design studio Intarya designed the Hyde Park apartment project in 2012.  The luxury studio apartment belongs to a young professional and is located in Hyde Park, London, England.

This luxury studio apartment in central London oozes glamour and sophistication. The interior design is contemporary, luxurious and uber-chic. The overall feel is very stylish and high-end.

“We wanted to create a sleek, modern aesthetic but also inject some youth into the scheme, appropriate for our young professional client,” says the designer.

What was the biggest challenge during the project?

As a 6,40 sq ft studio, the space needed to function practically, with each furniture piece contributing significantly to the overall stylish, contemporary look.

How would you describe the design of the property?

Intarya set about designing the perfect London pied a Terre for a young professional.

Soft grey leather was used to clad the wardrobe doors, a complementary tone to that of the wallpaper, creating a seamless and elegant space, made larger by the clever use of clear mirror to the free standing wall at the centre of the apartment.

In the bedroom area statement artwork introduces a sense of fun and youthfulness.  The vintage black and white photograph, representative of the sexy Playboy era and the funky three arm wall light asymmetrically placed to one side, together with the stylish cool grey fabric scheme combine to create a definitively cosmopolitan and modern London apartment.

What stands out the most for you in the property?

A play on asymmetry was at the forefront of the bedroom scheme. Emphasising the asymmetrical overhang of the deep buttoned headboard is the placement of three artwork pieces propped against the wall to one side and an asymmetrical funky wall light to the other. This extended even to the furniture layout; no matching bedsides here. Instead, we designed a contemporary lacquered table with open shelving to one side of the bed & a large desk with asymmetrical Perspex leg at the other that makes for a home office area or dressing table.
