Intimate, luxurious and sleek interior design at the Secrets, The Vine Hotel, Mexico

Award-winning architectural practice Rockwell Group have designed the Secrets, The Vine Hotel for the Mar del Este. Completed in 2013, this luxury hotel with destination spa affords views of both the Caribbean Sea and Laguna Laguna Nichupté. The hotel can be found in Cancun, Mexico.

The design concept of the Secrets hotel experience—intimate, familiar, and luxurious—is exceptionally tailored to suit discerning travellers, with many layers of moments revealed throughout the property. A series of thresholds provides you with a clear sense of arrival, exploration, and transformation. Rockwell Group’s designs stay true to the concept of “a barefoot journey of textures and unexpected discoveries, anchored in the Yucatan Peninsula.”

Adelto loves the Piano Lounge and Bar area.  This is one of the sleekest, most sumptuous spaces in the hotel, the piano lounge is open from 5pm on. Grand, crafted doors typical of Mexican homes introduce you to the space, where you can enjoy drinks around a series of fountains. The interior design is based on a modern version of a glamorous 1920s club, with rich parquet floors, custom metal sconces and carpets. Tufted leather walls, an antique mirror, and banquette seating are additional features of the lounge.

The rooms are as just as sumptuous. They have been designed as a refuge and a personal retreat. At night, each one transforms with a turn-down service that pulls a curtain around the space to make it feel like a cocoon. Each room has a bathroom featuring walls and ceiling wrapped in glass with a white pattern abstracted from geometric patterns used on Mayan pottery. This element provides an amazing feature visible from the room and adds to the cocoon-like feeling in the evening as it glows like a lantern. The guest rooms have indirect LED lighting and porcelain floors made to look like wood. Found objects and pillows form the accents of these otherwise clean and neutral guest rooms.
