Have you dreamt of swimming with sharks whilst on holiday? Next month whale shark season begins in the Belize Barrier Reef in the Caribbean Sea – and if you’re an adventure seeker this could be the time to book your next holiday.

Adventure seekers can rise to the bait and explore the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second longest in the world! Whale Sharks are mostly seen during the full moon cycle, which falls this year on the 5 March – 4 April and again on 3 May – 2 June. Turtle Inn conducts the drives at Gladden Spit two days prior to the full moon dates and up to 10 days after the full moon. During this time, the Whale Sharks share the ocean with divers and snorkelers allowing them to actually swim right beside these gigantic fish as they glide through the water.
There are plenty of other fish in the sea but Belize is one of the few dive spots on the planet that guarantees the return of the largest fish year after year making it one of the world’s greatest scuba destinations.
