Luxury Westminster home designed by Eric Tokstad

Eric Tokstad, architect to the stars, and his other half, Andy Janowski, CEO of Smythson have put their luxury London home up for sale.

The  Gayfere Street town house is owned by the famous architect Eric Tokstad who has worked for numerous celebrities, including on Celine Dion’s Florida residence and used to be the architect for Banana Republic, and his partner Andy Janowski, who is the CEO of Smythson and previously chief operations officer for Burberry.

Gayfere Street is the seventh house they have renovated in 21 years and it includes laundry chutes, bespoke silk carpets and even a pizza oven, all spread over five floors.

The luxury house is minutes’ away from Westminster Abbey and just off Smith Square. After the original house on the plot was bombed in WWI, the house was rebuilt in 1920 in a neo-Georgian style and in the 1980s was converted into offices.

The couple bought the property and converted it back into a residential house, apparently the bathrooms had urinals when they bought it! There are vintage oak floor boards, roof lighting, steam showers, bespoke joinery and interiors finished to the highest of standard. There is a roof terrace with views of Big Ben and the whole houses is filled with original contemporary art including Tracey Emin drawings.

Tokstad has been more responsible for the design, whilst Janowski has taken the lead with the interiors design.

The house is on the market through Hathaways, hathaways.co.uk
