Luxury Cap Rocat Hotel in Mallorca

Cap Rocat is all about simple luxury and a complete lack of ostentation. We’ve looked at what’s here already: the architecture, the local products and the food – and worked with them. Having lived in Mallorca, I am very aware of its strong cultural traditions. But tradition is not about nostalgia, it’s about identity,” says Pablo Carrington.

Opened in 2010 Cap Rocat has been created from a former 19th century military fortress, set on an incredibly secluded headland on the Bay of Palma de Mallorca. Stunningly blended into the landscape, the magnificent fortress has been totally transformed, whilst retaining the integrity of its architecture and the natural environment.

The 24-room luxury Spanish hotels interior design is the work of Antonio Obrador – AODENARIO known for his work for leading bankers and European movers and shakers, including Claudia Schiffer, and for Gran Hotel Son Net in Mallorca and part of La Residencia in Deia.

The El Cabo Suite – In the most secluded position within the fortress, the “El Cabo” Suite offers a large living room furnished with one-off, original pieces of art, spacious gardens with private terraces and a private pool.

There is plenty to do on the island from The Sea Club – completely private, created in a secluded cove, with a sandy area with sunbeds, and its own informal restaurant. Swimming areas have been set up around the former pier and dock, all part of a natural reserve. The Fortress Swimming Pool – a spectacular inifinty pool, created on one of the walls of the old fortress. The water meets the sea and the sky, with heart lifting views over the Bay of Palma, there are even complimentary bicycles – for exploring.

When it comes to wining and dining the hotel offers three gems on the island, from the Fortress Restaurant – set under huge tents overlooking the bay of Palma. Serving local Mediterranean cuisine using ingredients sourced from local ecological farms; The Sea Club – on the waterfront, in the spectacular ‘Cala de le Reina’, a relaxed open-air restaurant which offers dishes cooked in a traditional Mallorcan firewood oven and grill and The Old Fortress Kitchen: the typical old Mallorcan kitchen has been carefully refurbished to create an atmospheric private dining room, for wine tastings and cooking classes.

The luxury Spanish hotel is only a 20 minute drive from Palma airport and in an environmentally protected area, with very special bird and sea life.
