House S was completed in 2007 byAtelier Heiss Architects an Austrian-based design studio. The contemporary extension was to an existing house in Vienna, Austria.
According to the architects: Old and new contrast – a drastic reconstruction preserving only the facade facing the street created a symbiosis of restraint and generosity. While the conventional design of the house on the outside seems almost anonymous, the open structure towards the garden speaks a modern architectural language.
This beautiful contemporary home features a compact but perfectly sized swimming pool with outdoor decking, perfect for those lazy Austrian summer days. Images courtesy of Peter Burgstaller.
Dutch design studios CUBE and SOLUZ have designed the Brouwersgracht Apartment. Completed in 2008, this contemporary apartment can be found on the first floor of a warehouse in Brouwersgracht in the centre of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
