Created for the burgeoning Indian middle class and international traveller looking for affordable luxury, The Park chain of hotels has unveiled it’s four-star hotel brand Zone by The Park.
Launched this December, The Park Hotels, pioneers of luxury boutique hotels in India, have unveiled two new hotels in Coimbatore and Jaipur under the brand name Zone by the Park.
The line is overseen by London-based designers Project Orange, working in conjunction with Priya Paul, Chairperson of The Park Hotels. Project Orange is responsible for a number of high profile projects in the UK and internationally.
The hotels are situated in India’s fast growing and emerging Indian cities. Coimbatore is the second largest city in Tamil Nadu, and a major textile, healthcare and information technology hub. Jaipur, on the other hand, also known as the ‘Pink City’ is the capital city of Rajasthan. Both the hotels cater to leisure and business travellers.
Drawing from The Park Hotels’ strong emphasis on design, the concept will see interactive and buzzing open plan spaces, allowing different ‘zones’ to sit next to each other in an informal way. The hotel design seeks to establish a connection between the traveller and the local culture by creating a contemporary collage of the country and its’ traditions. Notably, the public areas are inspired by the traditional market bazaar – a place where people meet and engage in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
Priya Paul, chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Ltd, said: “Though different from The Park, we wanted to create a brand that would channel its inimitable spirit. A new brand with a new vision for the global citizen.”
