Covering almost 12 000 hectares in the picturesque region of the Waterberg mountains of the Limpopo Province, Shambala Private Game Reserve is ideal for honeymooners, couples and design-conscious travellers looking for an ‘out of Africa’ experience.

Shambala is a great place for enjoying an exhilarating elephant-back safari or having a quiet picnic on the shore of the river that runs through the camp. A mere two and a half hours’ drive north of Johannesburg, Shambala Game Reserve is home to a rich diversity of magnificent wildlife including the Big Five.

Lodgings come in the form of eight luxury chalets with en-suite shower and bath and outside shower. The traditional honeycomb-shaped chalets in the heart of the bushveld are decorated in elegant Afro-French Provincial style, with a double bed dressed in the finest linens, French armoire and full length mirror.

Need someone to pour that glass of fizz? A personal butler is on hand to assist you at all times. Or if you prefer a wilderness spa experience instead, the luxury spa is a unique, intimate wellness retreat situated in a secluded bush clearing along the riverside. The luxury spa boasts two treatment rooms and a deck with a view of the surrounding bush.
