The Ultra Modern Casa RO, Mexico

Casa RO is a stunning and contemporary two-storey home in Jalisco, Mexico. It was completed in 2010, by Guadalaraja-based studio Elías Rizo Arquitectos.

The contemporary building is situated in a well known residential area. The contemporary house was originally built in the 60s, with its straight lines, honest distribution, communication with the exterior, and usage of materials, represents the architecture of its time. All these design cues helped the designer decipher the project and set in motion arduous work of intervening while respecting its true state.

The project involved restoration of the old property as it was in a bad state of repair. The house had previously undergone several failed attempts to restore it and was in need of some serious TLC.  The project commenced with the demolition of some of the adjacent areas, maintaining almost all the original flooring on the ground floor, mainly because of all the new installations. The young owners wanted a unique home contemporary home with their own personal architecture ideas. Images courtesy of Marcos García.
