The Seventh Annual Festival des Architectures Vives, France

The seventh annual Festival des Architectures Vives was deemed a great success with more than 9,000 visitors attending this time round. This year the festival took place from June 13 to 17, 2012, in Montpellier, France.

Eleven teams were in competition this year—and the Jury Prize was awarded to installation, “Ne dérangez pas mes cerlces” (Do Not Disturb My Circles), by Julie Biron, a Berlin-based architect. The installation, ‘Première Neige’ (First Snow), by the university Laval in Quebec attracted the attention of the jury and received a special mention. In addition, the public voted for the Shalumo team, who came from of Bordeaux with their installation “ByeByeBalloon”.

Next year the contemporary French architecture festival has been organised to commence on June 12 and will run for 5 days.
