The delightful Hermosa Inn, Paradise Valley, Arizona
The Hermosa Inn was originally built in the 1930s by cowboy artist Lon Megargee and the original structure still stands on six acres of Sonoran Desert surrounded by 34 luxury casitas, a pool, Sculpture Garden and Spa Suite.
The luxury Arizona hotel was recently named one of the 2012 “Top 500 Hotels in the World” by various international publications, The Hermosa Inn is a jewel of a hideaway in the heart of the Valley; minutes from Scottsdale, yet surrounded by an exclusive neighbourhood in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
Originally a private home, the luxury Arizona property’s abode architecture has kept its “old Arizona” character and charm. All 34 luxury casitas are surrounded by spectacular landscaping and beautiful desert vistas. The accommodations retain the legendary personality and intimate atmosphere of the original hacienda, while enhancing the accommodations with upgraded amenities for a more luxurious experience.
The largest and most luxurious guest casita are the four grande casitas. Each come with comfortable sofas and over-sized chairs to create an inviting atmosphere in the front living area and each offers a king size bed and two private patios which set the mood for comfort and relaxation. You also have the option of reserving a connecting grande casita to create a free-standing, three-room residence.
The culinary centrepiece of the luxury hotel is LON’s at the Hermosa, the celebrated Four Diamond restaurant renowned for “artful American” cuisine – a bold and contemporary take on the multitude of foods originating in the western hemisphere, with a nod to both the past and the present.
Age-old cooking methods of smoking, roasting and wood-grilling are employed along with European techniques. Menus are designed to encapsulate the season and a new Chef’s Tasting Menu is offered weekly.
