The Chic Apple Bay House, New Zealand

Apple Bay house has been designed by Wellington-based designers Parsonson Architects. The contemporary property was finished in 2006 and is located in Apple Bay, Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.

According to the architects the contemporary Marlborough home is used as a holiday house, it sits on a west facing hillside in a bush clad bay in the Marlborough Sounds.

The intention was to create a delicate platform amongst trees for life to unfold. The contemporary Marlborough property is in two parts, each with a fine roof that follows the lie of the land. The upstairs living areas are one large space with decks at each end to enjoy both the morning and afternoon sun. Downstairs bedrooms float amongst the trees with windows opening across the tree tops. Images courtesy of Paul Mcredie.
