Sustainable and Affordable Cub House, England

‘Cub homes’ are a contemporary and off-the-shelf modular housing concept. The properties are an affordable and sustainable housing option with a great level of flexibility to meet the owner’s needs.

The contemporary British properties are finished to a high standard and can be placed in any surrounding. A three bed cub house can operate as a modern family home, or alternatively could provide separate accommodation for household staff. Meanwhile a one bed property could operate as a home office, marketing suite or recording studio; the adaptable nature of the cub home allows the opportunities to be almost endless.

The three bedroom cub house is set over two floors with 1,098sq.ft of space, and was built to code level five for sustainable homes. Fitted with Siemens appliances, concealed ceiling speakers and a Roca bathroom suite, the home doesn’t compromise on style or accessibility. Air heat recovery, solar panels, low energy lighting, water saving features and high levels of insulation ensure running costs are kept low.

The contemporary British house costs £135,000, and the small initial outlay is not the only financial benefit of buying one of these homes. As these properties are affordable and sustainable to run in the long-term, the fuel bill for heating, hot water and ventilation could be as little as £56 annually.
