Simple Luxurious Home by Bates Masi Architects

Bates Masi Architects have developed and designed a glorious modern home completed over a 1.6 acre lot in New York, USA. The Genius Loci Residence is a vast, contemporary and luxurious home that stretches over 3,200 square feet, and offers a deluge of opportunities for the client.

Surrounded by beautiful, picturesque wildlife, the Genius Loci Residence is a stunning piece, juxtaposing traditional aspects against modern characteristics to create a gorgeous amalgamation of modern architecture. The exterior of the home itself is more simplistic, as the Bates Masi group has decided to stray from the modern interpretation of architecture as over-the-top, complicated pieces, and have established a simpler, more welcoming and less complicated home. This adds a real charm and sophistication to the piece, as attention is solely on the piece itself as opposed to the complicated modern facades. The home is also bordered by gravel, which is a beautiful use of traditional mode.

With a lovely, relaxing swimming pool on the exterior also, the interior attempts to follow this brief, and does so brilliantly. The open-plan main living area/dining area and kitchen is completely visible from the exterior, as a saturation of large windows really opens the home up to natural, beautiful light. With a double-height ceiling enhances the spaciousness, the interior has a sleek, glossy finish – especially on the wooden flooring – and bears an efficiency to match the luxury.

Whilst simple in its execution, the Bates Masi group decided to incorporate just one modern façade in the home. A strikingly attractive see-through fabric encloses the staircase, giving a beautiful modern touch to this simple home.

The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and promote relaxation and peace, the clear aim of this home, and one that that Bates Masi Architects have hit perfectly.
