Set between the azure blue waters of the Indian Ocean and lush green sugarcane fields, Shanti Maurice is a luxury boutique hotel located around a pristine horseshoe coral sand cove, on the sleepy south coast of Mauritius.

This luxury boutique hotel near the small town of St Felix boasts an award-winning spa, 61 spacious suites and villas, spread across a 36-acre landscape of fragrant tropical gardens.

All 17 villas – including the presidential villa – are located on the beachfront overlooking the Indian Ocean, and have a private pool, outdoor rain shower and dining pavilion. Design is a contemporary yet timeless blend of Mauritian and African culture and style.

The Nira Spa is built around an enchanting tea pavilion, surrounded by lily ponds and indigenous flower gardens. The sunset ‘sega ritual’ is one of the most innovative and holistic treatments Adelto has come across. Performed on a beach with a live band and bonfire, the treatment includes the use of organic cane sugar from the island to naturally exfoliate the skin. Other offerings include africology and ayurveda treatments.

Epicureans will be kept happy at the luxury Indian Ocean hotel. Organic and locally sourced produce is served in some of its nine restaurants and bars, whilst Pebbles offer an additional ayurvedic cuisine. For a special experience ‘Grandma’s Kitchen’ is the place to head, here you get to eat with a local who is handpicked by the hotel from a village. The hotel’s Rum Shed opened in 2014, and is a shabby-chic rum shop designed in traditional style.
