Roca London Gallery by Zaha Hadid Architects
Zaha Hadid Architects, acclaimed winners of this year’s Stirling Prize, have designed the new Roca London Gallery located in the well-known Chelsea Harbour district near King’s Road. This versatile reference space is strikingly cutting-edge, technologically advanced and typically contemporary.
Promoting architectural tourism, the Roca London Gallery is striking simply from the exterior. The use of sleek, shining metallic colours is a wonderfully modern, beautiful technique. Zaha Hadid
Architects also cleverly utilise artificial light to ensure the gallery stands out. Impressive, modern shapes are sculpted onto the walls and the ceilings – even forming windows and doors – and are a brilliantly contemporary piece of architecture, challenging personal perception and staying in the memory.
The use of monotone colours; the greys, whites, blacks and more metallic colours captures the essence of the architects, and sets a benchmark for which Zaha Hadid have become leaders in the industry.
New technologies and social media have become the primary communication tool today and for the visitor to the Roca London Gallery they play a key role. These new media resources enable visitors to be entertained as well as to learn about the values, history and special achievements of the brand, including its social responsibility and commitment to the environment and to water sustainability. Touch-screen interactive technology sited at the entrance is treated by Zaha Hadid Architects’ design as an integral and complementary element within the Gallery.
