Portrait Firenze, a new Ferragamo-owned luxury hotel
Anyone heading to the city of Florence now has a a new stylish address to call home. Lungarno Collection’s Portrait Firenze opened last month, and helps celebrate the fashionable heritage of the Ferragamo family-owned hotel for which the city is known.
Located along the Ponte Vecchio, the luxury hotel is exclusively designed by Florentine architect Michele Bonan, who also designed the other properties in the collection.
Portrait Firenze’s lavish style and bespoke designs evoke a historic experience, and Bonan describes Portrait Firenze in one word ‘Aristocratic’. His primary inspiration was to create a timelessly elegant space and have harmony prevail through the use of simple lines. The luxury Florence hotel acts as an inspired ‘storyteller’, donning a photographic reportage throughout suites and public spaces portraying the lifestyle and glamour in Florence starting from the 1950s when the concept of ‘Made in Italy’ was born, while also paying homage to Florentine craftsmanship.
The luxury hotel‘s 34 suites, studios and penthouse ooze sophistication and glamour. Each room has a kitchenette equipped with everything you might need to whip up a drink or light meal, as well as a complimentary iPad, docking station and music and DVD library. The rooms also come with fabulous over-sized beds, a pillow menu, walk in wardrobes, Carrara marble bathrooms with a gorgeous range of toiletries by Salvatore Ferragamo.
Portrait Caffè, adjacent to the luxury Florence hotel, is the perfect place to enjoy a quintessential Florentine experience, with beautiful views of the Ponte Vecchio and River Arno.
