Luxury Shoe Concession at Dublin’s Arnotts Store

London and Singapore-based interior architects Shed have created a shoe department within Dublin’s infamous Arnotts Store. Completed in 2012, the designers have created the largest shoe department in the Republic of Ireland.

Following the creation of the luxury Harrods Shoe Salon, interior architects Shed was invited to create a luxury Irish store design. The project comes as part of an overall expansion and redevelopment of the luxury Dublin department store.

The award-winning architects developed a response to the brief with a concept based on garden landscape ideology. With the seasonal nature of the product, the scheme needed to demonstrate flexibility whilst providing a picturesque backdrop to the ever-changing product lines.  Collections of ornamental display units and sculptural furniture pieces are distributed across the landscape in order to delineate smaller ‘kitchen gardens’ that form brand areas for ample retail.  Large, colourful Rattan and GRP ‘follies’ form the service and seating areas within each brand zone.  Curved display frames as well as trellis-like divisions, with their associated hero product hangers, allow for unobstructed views across all brand areas.

Shed has worked alongside some of the world’s leading luxury designers, brands and retailers. They recently completed the Toy Kingdom at Harrods and previous projects include the Kurt Geiger Shoe Salon at Harrods, Spencer Hart Flagship in Mayfair, London and a global rollout of HTC stores–the talented and expanding London and Singapore based team are creating impressive waves across the global interiors industries. Shed’s skills extend beyond concept originality and scope, to a capability for delivering on a global scale.
