Luxury Hyde Park apartment with impressive architecture
London-based design studio, Intarya, have designed the Hyde Park project. Completed in 2012, the luxury apartment can be found at The Lancasters, Hyde Park, London.
Designers at Intarya were briefed to design a duplex apartment at the high profile Lancaster’s development, creating a luxury residential interior design project with wide appeal as a show apartment for future sale.
It was important for the designers to maximise the apartment’s distinctive architectural details such as the impressive double height ceiling of the reception room. Floor-to-ceiling joinery either side of the fireplace does this to excellent effect, using grey stained sycamore in a high gloss finish with antique mirroring to add to the glamorous feel of the interior.
In the dining area the walls have been clad in mirrors to increase both the feeling of space and natural light, important factors for an onward sale. A sculptural vine leaf wall light organically grows up the mirrored wall and across the ceiling, creating an intimate and romantic seating area for entertaining.
The biggest challenge during the project for the interior designers was maximising the apartment’s impressive double height ceiling of the reception room.
According to the designers: “The double height ceiling in the drawing room is such a fantastic feature. When you have such generous ceiling height you want to highlight and exaggerate it. We did this through the use of bespoke joinery in beautiful finishes. It is equally important to retain a homely feel which was the job of the large chandelier. This anchors the room and makes a connection between the furniture and the beautiful ceiling with its restored plasterwork.”
