The uber-luxury hotel La Banane, St. Barth

The glamorous, secluded and exclusive Hotel La Banane is comprised of nine unique bungalows on the French West Indies island of St Barts. Hidden amidst coconut groves the hotel offers the ideal getaway for the jet-set. The newly renovated luxury hotel with its secret location and confidential address has a unique intimate atmosphere. An exceptional hideout where you come to lose yourself, or the better to find yourself.

The new owners wanted to break away from the traditional styles used by luxury hotels and define a new experience. They have combined their passion for collecting interior design pieces, paying a tribute to the great names of modernism. In each room unusual works by Pierre Jeanneret, Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Serge Mouille, Jean Royère and Juliette Derel form the highlights of an ever-changing tapestry.

Vintage pieces from the 1950s created by Le Corbusier have been carefully sourced for the hotel, along with references to Pierre Jeanneret’s work created for the Indian city of Chandigarh, create a fruitful crossover between post-colonial India and the ideals of a European culture which was undergoing a radical change at the time.

The unity of the surroundings is emphasized by the exuberant and intelligent work of graphic design duo Ich&Kar, who are behind the hotel’s new visual identity.

Feeling peckish? In the mood for some pampering? Want a massage? Maybe a detox cocktail? Or a candlelit dinner on your private terrace, prepared just for you? No problem,  all can be arranged in a snap of a finger.
