Yixing one of the most culturally significant cities in Chinese history, and famous for its long tradition of handmade zisha teapots, majestic bamboo forests and mysterious caves saw the opening of its first five-star hotel this year.

The city is also the birthplace of thousands of scholars and scientists in China. And now the Kempinski Hotel Yixing is bringing savoir-vivre through its modern facilities, European service and international gourmet cuisine in the heart of the city.

The Yixing hotel is located on the banks of Lake Tai, one of China’s most famous lakes. The hotel offers 446 rooms and suites with lake views. Rooms feature contemporary design in a soothing colour scheme, flat-screen LCD TV, walk-in rainforest shower, separate bathtub and high-speed Internet access, as well as automatic curtains and a high-tech lighting system that adjusts the room’s brightness to the natural daylight outside.

If you are lucky enough to have a room on the ‘executive floor’ (floors 57-59) you can enjoy exclusive access to the executive lounge, where complimentary breakfast buffet, beverages, all-day snacks and pre-dinner drinks are served.
