Contemporary Wohnhaus Am Walensee, Switzerland

K_M Architektur an Austrian-based design studio has finished the Wohnhaus Am Walensee property. Completed in 2007, this two-storey contemporary home can be found in Unterterzen, a small picturesque village on Walensee lake, Switzerland.

According to the architects: “The location alone of this single family home is nothing short of spectacular, with a clear view of lake Walensse and the mountains of Churfirsten.

“The contemporary Swiss property is located on the slope of a green meadow with conditions to realize the floating design that captivates through its clear form and the use of natural materials using concrete, glass and wood.

“A loggia encircles the building on the lake side, fulfills an open living space and creates a flowing transition between interior and exterior with a fantastic panoramic view. The effect is intensified by floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors on this side of the façade. The back of the house appears to be more closed.

“Rooftop solar panels and a stove in the living room produce most of the energy for the contemporary Swiss property.”
