Contemporary Casa Valna, Mexico City

Contemporary-Property-Mexico_09

South American architectural practice JSa Arquitectura have completed the Casa Valna project. This contemporary home with its glass accents can be found in Mexico City, Mexico.

According to the architects: “This family home is in a district of Santa Fe in Mexico City. The first condition for the solution was to give the client a project to optimise the building space without sacrificing the programme. To achieve this, we faced a number of challenges that instead of limiting us, pushed us to solve the architectural party ‘L’ with the intent to make the house feel more spacious by uniting the two gardens in the front and back, maximising the depth of the contemporary Mexican property.

“The resulting space is the compositional axis of the project, a linear sequence of spaces of different character. All the main spaces of the house are subordinate to this axis and are incorporated into it visually and physically by large mobile windows. The colour palette is based on the authenticity of the materials like exposed concrete, oiled wood, grey limestone, and the vegetation.”
