Contemporary Casa Mecano, Costa Rica

San Jose-based RoblesArq have designed the Casa Mecano. The compact contemporary property can be found in the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica.

According to the architects: “The contemporary Costa Rican property has been designed to adapt to its environment. The concept of the project came about in the use of passive strategies through bio-climatic design in synergy with an automation system that controls the precise levels of natural ventilation – through open windows and a pulley system that alters the position and inclination of the eaves manually – promoting thermal comfort and indoor air quality.

“The aim was to to maximise functionability in the smallest space availble.” Images courtesy of by Andrés García Lachner.
