Contemporary Block House, Mexico

This modern home was designed and completed by Mexico-based A-001 Taller de Arquitectura. The two-storey contemporary home can be found in Mexico City, Mexico.

The architects said: “For too long we have accepted  gravity as an imperative. The weight of an apple does not have to tie the architecture to the floor, what makes us human is to transcend what seems natural.

The contemporary home embodies the freedom given to man to create. Surprised with a black block floating, sustained only by a few metal pipes.

Inside, we cross open spaces, subtle transitions from one environment lead us to the next. The interiors are open to the outside, it seems to prolong the walk in the room on the air, into the garden and beyond.

The contemporary house takes over the air as much as the terrain, the volume embraces every cubic inch interior and exterior.” Images courtesy of Santiago Arnau and Eduardo Gorozpe.
