Contemporary Biasa Shop, Bali

Bali-based design studio PT Green Design have completed the Biasa Shop project. The contemporary retail outlet can be found in Sanur, Bali, Indonesia.

The contemporary Bali property combines traditional and modern space with locally sourced materials.

According to the designer: “Personally, I don’t have a style that I stick too. What is important for me is to know my client and come up with a design that best matches their personality. I try to give them the maximum of comfort and use the space as efficiently as possible.

“I need to know what they like, what they think, and what their philosophy about life is. All these factors must be combined with the space where we design whether it is the interior or exterior of a building.”

The designer has previously designed a project for the same client a Biasa Gallery in Seminyak and Biasa Shop in Kemang, Jakarta.

“The contemporary shop in Sanur has been designed with an interesting ceiling panel combined with a natural material and finished like it’s new. Like the experience in the Biasa gallery in seminyak where the orange terpal on the ceiling give a strong characteristic to the place. This local material from the local culture becomes a mixed with a modern language.

“Merbau wood for the floor, rusted steel for the stairs and warm colours bring out the character of the contemporary Balinese property in Sanur.”
