Colonial Luxury At The Bequia Beach Hotel, The Grenadines

The Luxury Bequia Beach Hotel has been built from scratch by entrepreneur Bengt Mortstedt, with ideas gleaned from the very best experiences he has collected during his extensive worldwide travels.

It has a modern Colonial style that combines luxury, elegance and charm with a unique modern flair reminiscent of the 50s. The luxury hotel is situated on one of the finest beaches on Bequia with views across to other Grenadine islands in the distance. It is the perfect spot from which to indulge in quiet relaxation, experience Bequian life and activities, plus a chance to sample some delicious local Bequian cuisine.

We certainly felt the same as owner Bengt Mortstedt  when he first stepped foot onto the Grenadine island of Bequia – totally head-over-heals in love!  An unspoilt, natural and incredibly charming paradise island.  After acquiring land on Friendship Beach, Bengt decided to build a hotel based on the very best experiences he had during his extensive travels, and this has really paid off.

The hotel includes 10 garden, pool and sea view rooms, 11 ocean view suites, 14 beachfront suites, 4 two-bedroom villas plus family and penthouse suites. Restaurants – Blue Tropic for casual dining on the hillside and Bagetelle right on the beach.

The hotel has an elegance of a bygone era – the 1950s. We adore the concept of Beverly Hills-style pool cabanas (unique to the Caribbean), the Oliver Messel inspired stylish rooms and the relaxed warm welcoming atmosphere. As Bengt would say ‘check-out any time you like, but you can never leave!’
