Chic new look for Fulham home, London

Barcelona-based architectural practice, Dom Arquitectura, has refurbished the Fulham Flat project. Completed in 2014, the flat has been refurbished to a very high standard and is located in fashionable Fulham, London, England.

This one-bedroom property located in London’s Fulham borough was designed and completed in seven months. And a major challenge was designing access to the unused rooftop.

According to the architect: “Located in Fulham, we worked on this flat which had an out of date interior and needed new electrics and decoration. We tried to make the flat a state of the art new maisonette from a small space.

“The main access to the London flat is via the ground floor, where there is also a small garage. Walking up the stairs you reach the second floor – where the main areas of the house are located.

“Previously there were two small rooms but we decided to enlarge the master bedroom and make a bigger living room, which also integrates into the open kitchen,  at a cost of the second bedroom. The result is a bright and fresh open space that connects the bedroom and bathroom by sliding doors.

“As a positive discovery, the roof was an unused space that is being utilised now, by taking advantage of an existing skylight access through an iron ladder, the owner is very happy now enjoying rooftop views across London.”
