Box House with compact and cozy design features

Brasilia-based architectural practice, 1:1 arquitetura:design, has designed the Box House project. Completed in 2013, the small property is located in Brasilia, Brazil.

The property was designed as a conceptual project that experiments with a new way of occupying space and form. The luxury home belongs to a young professional who has a keen eye for stylish interiors.

According to the architect: “It was born under the concept of pool house; which contains two bedrooms, shared bathroom, a small service area and a kitchen/dining area.

“The volume was created as a concrete box, with enough personality, the entries of the box are marked with a rusty steel form, inside the building we have tried to use a very fun mix of textures, colours and Brazilian design.”

The interior design has very a luxurious feel to it. Furniture was sourced from Marcus Ferreira, Paulo Alves, Aristeu Pires and other big Brazilian furniture specialists. We love the bright yellow kitchen cabinets.
